E-Tone Huang has been a guitar freak since the early 90s. He has been among the first Chinese musicians to be serious about
electric guitar in all its aspects. As a music journalist he wrote
seminal articles in local rock magazines and spent several years in
gathering technical knowledge from western publications and musicians.
He is currently lead singer of the E-Tone Blues Band and acts as an
expert adviser for famous Chinese guitar players: Fender and Zemaitis
should thanks him if Liu Lin, YoYo Ma's guitar player, is playing their
instruments !
His interest for Blues music had him approaching Italian expat Claudio,
the guy who, without being aware of it, actually introduced blues
harmonica to the Chinese world ! His playing in the very first Chinese Blues album ever (by blues master Hang Tian...) happened to become a
milestone in modern Chinese music:
since then, China has its very own blues harp players !
The two of them joined forces and musical passions to form the
E-Tone
Blues Band and create the E-Tone guitars brand name. It's the beginning of a new musical adventure: join us for the ride!
"I listened to it and I was very impressed. That's some good blues.
Good tone and phrasing. The harmonica has a good blues tone." -Charlie Musselwhite
"Mr. E-Tone. This is Bob Margolin. I write for Blue Revue and have my
own Blues Band. I enjoyed your YouTube video -- you are
all good
players. I'm glad Blues music brings us together and maybe we will play
together someday, somewhere." -Bob Margolin
"I went to YouTube and watched your video, very nice! You put in a
lot of emotion, and have a great band. I also like the guitar tones:
nice and intense. And your harp-player is fantastic. Wish I could be
there to jam with you." -Teye
